What started out as a search for missing 51-year-old Archibald Jones of Malverton, St George, and Deane Pilgrim, 81 years, of Vauxhall, Christ Church, resulted in the find of almost 200 marijuana plants in Windsor, St George.

Police public relations officer Inspector David Welch reported this afternoon that the searches began around 6:35 this morning and concentrated on St George and Christ Church areas.

“The searchers involved were drawn from the CID and uniform members of the Southern Division led by Inspector Wooding, the Canine Unit and personnel of the SSU. Also involved was a contingent of Barbados Defence Force soldiers led
by Major Darlington.

“The missing men were not found and the searches will continue on another date. A search was previously conducted to locate missing man Deane Pilgrim and the public is reminded to give any information that they may have on these persons,” Welch said in a released statement.

What the police found though, he noted, was a number of cannabis plants growing in a bushy area of St George.

“During the operation, 185 cannabis plants ranging between two inches to one-and-a-half feet in height were discovered growing in a bushy area at Windsor, St George.”

Police said though no arrests were made, the plants were however seized.

Even so, the search for the two men continues.

Archibald is said to be 6’3” in height, dark complexion, stocky build, and has a bushy unkempt black and white beard. He has white spots on his face; speaks fast and has a Barbadian accent. He has a mental history, and suffers from diabetes and hypertension.
