Seven remanded

Seven people, including a juvenile and a woman, were remanded to prison on multiple counts of burglary and other offences when they appeared in the Oistins Magistrates’ Court today.

A 15-year-old from Christ Church, along with Akeem Ricardo Griffith, 23, of Montrose, Christ Church were jointly charged with one count of burglary while they face a similar charge along with 21-year-old Falicia Shauntell Browne of Sunrise Drive, Rices, St Philip.

Griffith is also accused jointly with Browne of another burglary. The duo, along with the 15-year-old and Shawn Kenna Henderson Walrond, 42, of 1st Avenue Station Hill, St Michael face another burglary charge.

Griffith faces a separate charge of handling stolen property.

Meantime, Jamal Rohan Omar Layne, 29, of 1st Avenue, Vauxhall, Christ Church and Dario Devon Taylor, 23, of Gall Hill, Christ Church are facing one burglary charge; Edward Shamar Chase, 30, of Gall Hill, Christ Church faces another; and Taylor is also separately accused of robbery and serious bodily harm.

The female accused pleased guilty to one burglary charge and will return to court on January 23 for sentencing. She will make a subsequent appearance on the other charges on February 9, along with Griffith, Walrond and the juvenile.

Layne, Taylor and Chase will return to court on February 16.
