Bhana and Bhamji granted bail on multiple criminal charges

Two salesmen were granted $20,000 bail each when they appeared in the District 'A' Magistrate's Court today on several criminal charges.
They are 33-year-old Mohammad Salim Bhana of Richmond Gap, St Michael and 23-year-old Muhammad Huzifa Bhamji, of No. 17 Stanmore Lodge, Black Rock, St Michael.

The two are accused of dishonestly disposing a motor car belonging to Rodney Lewis between October 3 and 12, knowing or believing that the vehicle was stolen.
Bhana and Bhamji are also charged with dishonestly obtaining BDS$15,000 from Jeffery Inniss on October 12 with intent to permanently deprive Inniss by representing that they were in lawful possession of a Toyota Corolla NZE and had authority to deal with the sale of the vehicle.
The accused are further alleged to have engaged in money laundering where they disposed of a vehicle that is the proceeds of crime.
They are also separately charged with engaging indirectly in the sale of a vehicle that is the proceeds of crime.
Bhana and Bhamji were not required to plead to the indictable charges when they appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant today with their attorney, Arthur Holder.
They secured bail with conditions and will make their next court appearance on March 27, 2019.
